Program Information

Did you know that diseased organs can be treated by stimulating specific acupuncture points? This ancient art of healing, dating back 5000 years, is known throughout the world as acupuncture. Learn how the Acupuncture continuing education course can supplement your chiropractic practice.

The foundation of acupuncture is the two-way communication between the specific acupuncture points and all organs, glands, and tissues of the body. By stimulating certain acupuncture points, the dysfunction of the body can be arrested and even reversed, bringing the patient back to health. Restoration of function is brought about by balancing the body’s own chi, the energy force that runs and heals the body.

Acupuncture is now:

  • recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO)
  • recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH)
  • recognized by most state boards
  • practiced as a primary healing system by acupuncturists
  • practiced as an adjunctive procedure by DCs, MDs, DDs, DVMs and DOs

Our Advanced 2nd 100 Hour program will focus on advanced Chinese medicine theory, diagnosis, expanded treatment protocols which include various forms of treatment that is a part of Chinese medicine. Treatment will include acupuncture points, herbal recommendations and other Chinese medicine techniques. The Advanced program is designed with the licensed health care provider in mind in the approach to western conditions via Chinese medicine. The Advanced program will also include hands on treatment of the patient.

Attention Texas chiropractors: Under the board rules, beginning on January 1, 2010, new DC licensees wishing to practice acupuncture must successfully complete either the national standardized certification examination in acupuncture offered by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners or the examination offered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in order to practice acupuncture. Doctors who were licensed prior to January 1, 2010 and want to practice acupuncture must take a board approved 100-hour training program.

Please contact your individual state board for details regarding practicing acupuncture requirements and/or exam requirements for licensing.
