Acupuncture Program - Basic 100 Hours

Program Information

Did you know that diseased organs can be treated by stimulating specific acupuncture points? This ancient art of healing, dating back 5000 years, is known throughout the world as acupuncture. Learn how the Acupuncture can supplement your chiropractic practice and benefit your patient community.

The foundation of acupuncture is the two-way communication between the specific acupuncture points and all organs, glands, and tissues of the body. By stimulating certain acupuncture points, the dysfunction of the body can be arrested and even reversed, bringing the patient back to health. Restoration of function is brought about by balancing the body’s own chi, the energy force that runs and heals the body.

Acupuncture is now:

  • recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO)
  • recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH)
  • recognized by most state boards
  • practiced as a primary healing system by acupuncturists
  • practiced as an adjunctive procedure by DCs, MDs, DDs, DVMs and DOs

Our Basic 100 Hour program is offered as a 100-hour/six-session course. Each class session is 16 3/4 hours long. Participants completing the full 100 hours and pass the course final exam are eligible to sit for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners acupuncture exam.

Attention Texas chiropractors: Under the board rules, beginning on January 1, 2010, new DC licensees wishing to practice acupuncture must successfully complete either the national standardized certification examination in acupuncture offered by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners or the examination offered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in order to practice acupuncture. Doctors who were licensed prior to January 1, 2010 and want to practice acupuncture must take a board approved 100-hour training program.

Please contact your individual state board for details regarding practicing acupuncture requirements and/or exam requirements for licensure.
