Effective Sports Massge
Rick Robinette, LMTRick Robinette, LMT is a highly sought-after instructor for continuing education workshops and seminars focusing on a diverse range of massage-related subjects. He has received more than 1200 hours of advanced training in therapeutic massage techniques, anatomy, soft-tissue pathophysiology, and other aspects of holistic health.
Massage therapy for active people – whether professional, amateur, or recreational – can be a challenging approach for the practitioner. This workshop will explore the heart of sports massage, discuss some important elements, and present an assortment of solid techniques that will allow the massage therapist a foundation to build upon. Key benefits, precautions, and background details as a knowledge base accompany technique demonstration and practice.
Sports massage is a comprehensive area of study that addresses soft tissue areas stressed by a particular sport, exercise, or activity. This can include the body’s responses to trauma, as well as the soft tissue injury-repair process. Sports massage also seeks to help maintain the optimal condition of an athlete’s myofascial structures and provide more consistency with high-level athletic training.
The focus of this continuing education workshop is on the physiological effects and benefits of sports massage techniques, and to provide an understanding of the difference between pre-event, inter-event, post-event, and maintenance sports massage. Compression and mobilization techniques that expedite the reduction of muscle soreness with athletes and reduce myofascial hypertonicity will be demonstrated and practiced.
Join Rick Robinette for this valuable training in effective sports massage.
